Massive lag when recording on laptop

Sign in to disble this ad
Greetings,
This is my first post so please go easy on me. I use a Line 6UX-1 to record both guitar and bass on my laptop, with either Acid Music Studio 8 or Cakewalk Music Creator 5 as my programs of choice. When I lay down more than 2 tracks on either of my programs, there is a significant lag in the playback. About 1/4 second delay between my drum tracks and my recorded tracks. How can I eliminate this? btw my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a Pentium Dual-Core on Windows Vista. Any suggestions for this newbie are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Simply change the latency setting.

How to? RTFM.
