Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I was just about to buy the Digidesign Mbox 2 Mini, when I noticed it says that its not compatible with Vista SP1. Now I have Vista Home Premium (32 bit) so thats fine, but I have upgraded to Service Pack 1 .........It says an announcment will be made in March 2008 ? and thats all there is on the website ?

So does anyone know if its compatible with Vista SP1 yet?

From http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...4&itemid=23876

Windows Vista Now Supported with Pro Tools LE 7.4 & Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4
Digidesign strives to support a wide variety of host computers and operating systems with our Pro Tools® product line, and we’re excited to support Windows Vista (32-bit) Ultimate and Business* operating systems with Pro Tools LE 7.4 and Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 software. Windows Vista 64-bit OS installation (any version) is not compatible.

*Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Editions not tested. Although Windows Vista Home and Home Premium Edition have not been tested or qualified by Digidesign, there are currently no known issues with Vista Home and Home Premium 32-bit operating systems and Pro Tools LE 7.4 compared to the officially qualified Windows Vista Business or Ultimate Edition operating systems.

Please note that at this time, Avid video peripherals such as Mojo SDI® are not supported with Pro Tools LE 7.4 on Windows Vista. Support for Avid video peripherals with Vista is expected in a future Pro Tools LE compatibility update.

Windows Vista SP1 — Not Qualified
Please note that Pro Tools LE and M-Powered are not supported on any available versions of Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista. Digidesign will announce Vista Service Pack 1 qualification with Pro Tools as soon as all testing is complete.

Microsoft currently plans to make Windows Vista SP1 available to Windows Update and to the download center on microsoft.com in mid-March 2008. In mid-April, Microsoft will begin delivering Windows Vista SP1 to Windows Vista customers who have chosen to have updates downloaded automatically.

Please do not install Windows Vista SP1 on any Pro Tools system until it has been officially qualified by Digidesign.

In other words, Digidesign might not even know . It looks like it may work with Home 32-bit, though it isn't qualified. It looks like it won't work with SP1. Check duc.digidesign.com for thorough input from PTLE users, if you're heck-bent on getting LE to work.
