I bought one of these
Korg MA-30

Works slick. Definately a helpful tool when practicing alone.

I've had a Wittner Taktell SuperMini for ages, and it still works great, but it's only acoustic (not electric).

They still make them:

I've had a Taktel super mini for almost 20 years, still rocksolid.

Dr. Beat by Boss.
You have subdivisions and accents as well with sliders.
Very handy
