| A good pair of pencil condensors are usually pretty honest. Like a pair of DPA's or Earthworks. If you wanted to go the large diaphram route id go with the AKG 414 b-xls. The upgraded model will be less honest with a top end sheen, which doesnt sound like what you want. A ribbon would probably sound great on it too but a ribbon will color the sound alot. These are all pretty expensive mics though so if this it out of your price range let me know and ill suggest something cheaper. |
