Mic to Record EABG

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

For the longest time I have wanted to record my acoustic. I love the way it sounds unplugged and I would love to capture its natural sound.

It does have a pickup, but sounds so unnatural when plugged through my amp or recorded direct.

I am not looking to spend much more than $100 and don't mind going used if need be. Is this a realistic? I just want to record the tone I'm hearing.

Thanks!
Shawn

This is the one I'd be curious to try with a built in pickup

Which one - I'm not sure, but I bet one or more does the trick. Maybe Fishman will come out with one for acoustic bass eventually.

I have been using a pair of Behringer C-2 condenser mics (69 for the pair) to record my abg and am quite happy. IMO 1 mic does not really capture the instrument well unless it is inside, for live and some recording stuff i have a Highlander Insider that is wonderful but it is closer to 250.
I got those mics to use as overheads fro drums and have found all sorts of other uses for them.
