Mic'd 8x10

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone here use an 8x10 in studio to record? A couple of posts and research on here have led me to the conclusion that I should record 2 tracks - one direct and one mic'd.

I am looking for a very standard, reasonably priced mic to use on this 8x10.

Any suggestions?

If you DI and mic, just use a 58 and blend the two and you'll get a great tone with an 810. If you want something better and don't mind spending $250, maybe check into the Heil PR 35. Most other good mics for bass are over $300, and most are closer to $400.

I like 57's on guitar and 58's on bass. The 58 has a slight little midbass hump that I like.
