Midi effects?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm start doing some recording on a midi keyboard. I use Cubase SX and Novation Nio 2/4 interface.

I got several VSTi plugin to use along my keyboard which includes, EZDrummer, MusicLab RealGuitar and RealStrat etc along with some syn effects.

When i use the RealStrat plugin i can get some Stratocaster type of sound but if i wish to add distortion effects to the midi sound, how do i do it? I got some effects plugin but it seems it only work on audio tracks but not midi tracks.

Is their a plugin i can use?

Route the VSTi to an audio track and apply the effects to that audio track. I think SX defaults its VSTi routing directly to the master bus.
