Monster Cable Selection

I am making a trip to Guitar Center tommorow and I am deciding whether to get the Studio Pro or the specific bass cable. I will be playing live with the cable if that makes any sort of difference. Thank you for your help.

I have Monster cables and I can't tell a bit of difference between it and any other decent cable. Those instrument specific cables are nothing more than marketing hype. Save yourself a few bucks.

These instrument cables are insured by Monster so if I ever break mine I can just get a free one.....

They are high end cables also...

I know, I have one, most likely you are gonna need that insurance. Mine crapped out on me in less than a year. My Horizon cable has been well used for over ten years, haven't had a problem with it yet.

I thank you for your input but mainly that comes with how it is treated. My brother used one of these for 6 years and never had a problem with it until an amp rolled over it. It all depends.

Im still looking for an input on which of the cables to buy.

It's your money. Any decent cable at half the price is just as good.
I take very good care of my equipment.
Just make sure you have a back-up if you use it live. That insurance ain't much good at one in the morning.

You're very welcome. I appreciate your polite responses even though we know that I didn't say what you wanted to hear. Sometimes people get agitated and nasty when that happens. I'm happy that you are satisfied. You being satisfied with your purchase is all that matters. I hope the cable serves you well for many years.
BTW, I use Monster cables in my rig and I have never had a problem with those.

I actually did notice a small difference when I got the Bass Monster Cable. The sound had a bit more defined low end. Not enough for the average person to hear, but it seems pretty durable and has been through the abuse I've given it for the last two months (which is alot of abuse).

No problem, I'm open and want to hear all criticism as long as it is presented in a good form.

Buy yourself some meters of decent cable and some Neutrik plugs. Solder them together. Make one for backup and you're still way cheaper off than with a Monster, and you can repair them yourself. But mine all still work after years of use.
