Need some input...

...from any of you seasoned vets out there.

I'm trying to decide on a purchase. Here's the deal. I'm a fan of classic clean, warmth, grind, hair, etc. I have a 1976(ish) SVT (thinking about selling...pm me if your interested ), a 1970-something V4B...absolutely love them...it's the foundation of the sound I love (I go into effects land from there). I'm not taking either of those amps on the road with me anymore...and I'm spending more time in the studio.

I'm looking for a solid DI (or pre) that I can plug my pedal board into and send to the soundboard for the main sound...and basically just use my cab and amp (GB Shuttle 6.0 + Neo 212 cab) as more of an extra monitor that I rely on more for pitch and timing. Of course, this stuff would be useful in the studio too.

I'm currently looking at the Avalon U5 or the REDDI DI, or the GT Brick.

Thoughts?

So your main concern is live? You could just slap a Radial JDI on the end of your pedalboard. They sound really good, are built pretty well bomb-proof, and aren't particularly expensive.

For recording, I would try to get my hands on them all and pick your favourite. I don't know the Brick, but I don't think you could go too far wrong with the U5 or the REDDI. You could easily get a JDI for live and a used U5 for recording for less than the price of a REDDI...
