New Gear I got, and my opinions

Sign in to disble this ad
Been goin a little crazy on gear lately, so if it helps anyone, here are my opinions on them (all purchased new)

Korg SP200 ($895cdn+tx) Stage Piano

Wow, I am a highly trained pianist, and this feels so real!
Has Real Hammer Action Simulation

Features are great, String sounds suck, PAD sound is one of the fullest sounds I've ever heard, Great B3 type organ, Pipe Organ is really aggressive sounding, like "Phantom/Opera", Guitar sound alright I guess, has good Vibes, Harpsi.

Main Piano sound is Killer!!!!
Ordered the recommended pedal with "half pedaling" feature, not here yet. Stock pedal is adequate (stomp box).

Power Cable is Wall Wart - drag!
128 note Polyphonic, Can run multiple channels / sounds
Layer 2 sounds, Full 88 Keys, Slab Style

I Love It!, will post some recordings soon.

Line6 TonePort UX2 ($289cdn+tx) Audio Interface

For the price, this thing is way cool
Has 2 line inputs for my Keys, 2 separate mic inputs, and High & Low Gtr/Bass Inputs. Mics have boost, as well as Phantom Power, 2 inputs for control pedals

Software is cool...cheezy interface, but who cares, has stomp boxes, FX, Amp Sims, Cab Sims, some nice factory presets, can save user settings.

USB, takes power from my laptop, I can record on my boat!
Looks a little cheap, but VU meters are very cool to have.

Epiphone Special II ($180cdn+tx) Les Paul type GTR
Sounds OK, hate the balance!, very Body Heavy, if you let go of the neck, it may fall when seated / no strap...Ok with a strap on.

Not conviced I will keep it yet.

Edirol MIDI Inferface ($69 cdn+tx)

USB, has activity lights, out/thru switch
Does exactely what it's supposed to.

Behringer C3 Large Diaphram Mic ($89cnd+tx) Studio Style

Awesome Mic!...LOOK AT THE PRICE!!!
Has 3 Polar Patterns, Bass Cut switch, -10db switch, needs phantom power (has light), Metal Casing

Comes with Case, Clip and Stand Adapter.

Just ordered a second, for stereo etc.
