peavey mark III with Hartkey 4x10

I have a peavey mark III with Hartkey 4x10, but I'm not sure how is the correct form to connect this amp head with a 4x10 cabinet, I mean, do I have to plug in the 4 ohm out or in the 2 ohm out? because some times the speakers sound like a frat, I don't know if I'm giving them so much watts, If anyone have an idea please share with me, thanks

This is the recording area of TB your question would be best answered in the Amp area.

Basically what it the cabinet rated at 4ohm? If you head has a 4ohm connection that would be the one to use. Most gear won't handle 2ohms it's almost a short. The people in the amp area and better explain.
