IK Multimedia

Have you tried the IK Multimedia plugin? The Ampeg SVX plugin simulates a bunch of classic and modern Ampeg amps and cabs. IK Multimedia also has the new Amplitube Fender, which is more for guitarists, but includes a few bass amp models as well. I have both software packages, and they're pretty expensive, but I think there are demos on the website that you can download to try.

Hope this helps

I recommend guitar rig 3 by waves. I also have the ampeg by IK, but I haven't used it since I got the waves plugins. The waves plugin does a better ampeg tone and has some others too. And you'll also get some simulated stomp boxes few other things.

All of the above
Depends on what you want in an amp simulator
Most would just like a good cabinet simulator.

For SS - GK and MarkBass, have them.
For tube Peavey Revalver is a blast.
Cheap is Voxengo Boogex it's still very good - and it will load in cabinet impulses

many choices, many of the guitar amp modelers include bass amps.
http://www.guitarampmodeling.com/ is a good place to go to get some ideas.
