I've been using the RBI for our recordings. IMO it kicks major A$$. If u want to listen to some of my band's recordings follow this link below.

Reason MP3'S

I think I got my best sound on the first track "impalement". Thats a recent recording.

I know of the bass POD, but what is RBI?

Both could work depending on the situation. The RBI will be more Rock/Metal driven, and the Bass Pod will be more versatile but has more knobs and it may take time for you to find what you want with it. I have a POD and the sansamp BDDI, the RBI's smaller counterpart, and I've used both successfully. I tend to use the POD more for recording and the BDDI pays for itself over and over again when I play live.
