preamp comparison/shoot out clips

Hello TB-ists!
I'd made these recordings for myself, to help me to focus in on the strengths, weaknesses, and general character of my gear in its most neutral settings.

I've benefited extremely from Basstasters.com, and a lot of individuals (JimmyM, frandiaz, many others) that have posted gear recordings, and I wanted to share these as another point of reference. I hope they can be helpful.

I did the best I could to document my signal chain, so everything could be taken into account. I'll apologize ahead of time for the flubs and novice website.

Preamps tested:
Aguilar DB 680
Aguilar DB 900

Little Labs IBP
Radial JDI
Motu 828 MKII mic pre
Raven Labs PMB
Summit TD-100
Chandler TG channel DI

Basses: Lakland Joe Osborn with flats(rosewood/alder), and Sadowsky Ultra Vintage(maple/ash).

WOW!

Thanks for the awesome clips! Very helpful. Some that I thought I probably wouldn't like..... I did like. There were a couple that surprised me on there. For all pre's being set "flat", I liked that DB900 DI.

You should post this in the "AMPS" section. I think it will get a lot more love there. You've got some great soundclips here.

Thanks thehurlatron, I appreciate the advice!

I haven't settled on my favorites yet, but am having similar reactions to the files. I'm listening to them blind, and keeping notes about what I like/dislike about each sound. I'm being surprised, too!
