problems getting any kind of output out of a Yamaha MG10/2

I just got a basic Yamaha mixer this morning. Just something so I can practise in peace, and mix with CD input or from my computer.

Now, I have problems getting any kind of response out of it. Nada. Either direct from my bass, or from the XLR direct output from the amp, or from my mp3 player or my computer. I'm a bit worried I fried something, because this is rather odd... The level indicators don't even show any signal.

I even tried to plug the bass directly into Line in of the left channel, still nothing.

So I should at least get something from somewhere....

Hmmmm. Crank the gain on the channel your DI is coming into.

Does the level of the DI on your amp depend upon the master volume? My old Peavey combo did this and it took me a long time to figure it out.

Try using the Tuner out from your amp into a line in on the mixer.

where you you getting anything before? you tried following thier set up procedures in the manual?

i know on mine, if you don't have the right buttons pushed sending the path in the right direction, you may get nothing.
