Anyone know any programs to slow down music so you can hear each note? Thanks. Not sure if it goes into this or . tab section, but seems better here since its equipment. Thanks

One of the best ones that I have found is called "Transcribe!". It has tons of features on top of being able to slowdown your music files. Some very useful marking and looping features are built in. You also get some pretty powerful eq'ing presets which can remove or solo certain instrument ranges which is useful for removing the bass from a recording so you can play along. I think the website is http://www.seventhstring.com/. Check it out and play around with the demo. There are few others good ones, but I think this one has the edge on the other programs.

+1.

this program is absolutely worth every penny of the $50 when the demo trial is over. I almost always have a project going that I'm using transcribe for.

Never used Transcribe, but if you use Winamp there are free plugins that let you slow stuff down by 50% w/o changing pitch. PaceMaker is the name of the plugin.

transcribe does a lot more than speed...

It also will change pitch, loop, and analyze notes in music you select...

If you have a Mac Quicktime will do it, and change pitch as well.

I've used The Amazing Slow Downer.

http://www.ronimusic.com/

Can slow the music down as much as you want, and will maintain the original pitch. Demo only lets you do a minute at a time I think, but just use audacity or something to chop the songs up into pieces.

All of the slow down programs that I've seen only take the song down to 50% of the original speed. Has anyone come across software that is capable of slowing things down further?

Yes, Transcribe does it

The newer windows media players can take the speed of mp3 and similar format songs down to half speed. I imagine most people have this program already anyway.
