Quality 2.1 speaker system for under $300?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm trying to get into a little audio production, mostly beatmaking and recording, and I'd like to get a good set of speakers. All I've really had were a set of cans and the speakers on my Macbook Pro so I don't have even the slightest idea of where to start. Being a bassist, a good sub is really important to me. I don't need ridiculous, room shaking, window rattling lows but I want to be able to feel it. Any suggestions would be appreciated so long as I can get 'em under $300.

Doesn't a sub/stereo setup cross the bass out of the stereo pair too? I would guess that speakers would last longer and perform better...

...good luck dude - but don't forget to reference through a little mono speaker too...just to make sure your ideas translate to ringtone.
