recording bass and guitar in a pc

ok guys, what softaware would you recomend to record guitar and bass, i remember there was one anounced here in TB some months ago that could do both, it was mainly for guitar but it had some bass amps too
what software was that? and is it any good?
or i should get one for guitar and one for bass?, i am looking for top quality in recording but withouth going to a proper studio, also what soundcard should i get wich isnt too expensive and does a decent job i know nothing about sound cards but i am willing to spend as much as needed for a decent one

I've got a Line6 Toneport (now called POD Studio) that works really well and is pretty easy to use. It's a hardware/software combo. The hardware has ins for guitar/mic/stereo 1/4" and the software (Podfarm) includes quite a bit emulated gear for guitar AND bass. You can expand the gear with add-on packs, but I've never needed too. It also includes a free version of Ableton Live, decent recording software. It's a nice all-in-one solution... I've been using mine for a couple years now and couldn't be happier!

I can upload a clip or two of stuff I've recorded with it if you like, but won't be able to until I get home tonight.

Guitar-Rig 3, but you'll need to run it through a sequencer like Ableton or Cubase it's awesome tbh :P well, imo

it could be, but i dont know if i cant get one of those in my country + i would prefer just software
