Recording the bass????? I need help

Hello everyone, How Goes It?

Im just getting into the world of recordings atleast recording the bass that is and was wonder what you guys think a good setup to record would be for me

My rig

Dell inspiron 8500 Laptop
2 USB ports
1 Firewire Port
1 mic jack
Adobe Audition 1.5

Behringer Ultrabass BX1200
Direct Out XRL
Amp In
Pre Amp Out
Tape In
Tape Out


I was thinking of going the way of getting a mixer
bass amp into mixer into computer

I was also looking at the line6 Toneport? Is it good for recording bass tracks and whatnot?


I need help and direction for a newbie bass recorder

budget wise I was looking to keep it under the $300 mark.
