Recording a bass piece for the first time...?

Sign in to disble this ad
As someone who has neve recorded a bass piece before, how can I go about getting a half decent recording from my bass/amp?
I have access to IT technology and also a soundproofed music room from time-to-time.

PS I will also add that I'm a relative beginner to bass, having played properly for only a few months.

I go directly from the DI (out) on my head unit to the mixing console.
