well, it seems like you should be able to do this with ease. It would be helpful to know what kind of interface you are using.

Does it have 1/4 inch TRS input jacks, XLR, etc

For instance I use a very simple 1in/1out USB interface that has 1/4 inch input/output jacks. I can run my bass into my amp, and then run an XLR to 1/4 inch cable from my DI out on the amp into the 1/4 inch input on the audio interface and then into my DAW.

Works like a charm.

OTOH, more recently I have figured out that a clean, uncolored input, as in my bass straight into the audio interface, often gets a better result in the final recording.

So, maybe share a bit more info on your gear with the forum and I', certain you will get a good answer.

i use a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1.....it has 2 inputs...an Instrument input and an XLR mic input.....

I have a new hartke combo amp with a direct XLR output in the back.....id like to send that signal with the eq's and 7band eq on the amp to my soundcard to record in logic

so, you have 2 or 3 options (maybe more, I am not an expert at all)

get an XLR to XLR cable. Plug your bass into the Hartke, run the XLR-XLR cable from the Hartke DI out to the XLR input on the Kontakt and then set your levels and go

or

get an XLR to 1/4 inch cable and do the same above, only plug into the 1/4 inch on the Kontakt

or

following my earlier suggestion, go straight into the Kontakt unit from the bass and use the tone shaping elements of Logic to eq and set the level on the bass signal

anyone of these should work

FWIW, I am using the NI 1in/1out interface into Ableton. Mostly I go straight in,and use the capabilities of Ableton to set my bass tone, sometimes I use the DI on my Mesa Walkabout to eq the signal. Either way, it works fine.

good luck
