Recording Play Along Videos

Hey everyone. I'm in a little bit of a predicament. I've been living in Boston now for 2 months and haven't found a gig yet. A lot of people ask for recordings or youtube videos. I have a bunch of recordings from 2 years ago and beyond, and feel they don't really represent me currently. I'd like to get into recording more videos of a wide variety of music to appeal to everyone.

For Christmas this year my girlfriend was lovely enough to get me a Cafe Walter HA-1 (comes in handy in a big city apartment building). I also have a new generation Macbook Pro. I was wondering if it was possible to use the 1/4 inch Aux Out on the headphone amp with a 1/8 inch adapter and plug directly into the Mac and use it with Photobooth or iMovie. Anyone have any suggestions? I've got a ton of tunes down ranging from r&b to rock to blues to fusion, etc. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I'm insanely broke after the Holiday season.

I would like to know also as i have a Cafe Walter HA-1 but no MAC. I don't know anything about what i would need to have to create some recordings. If anyone can chime in and provide some info it would be appreciated.

Joe,

I contacted Walter at CafeWalter and this is what he said, hope it helps.

"There are two ways to take a recording output from the HA-1A. First, you can use the aux output on the back. This is an isolated copy of the instrument input; that is, it is mono, and it is just the instrument signal, not a mix of the instrument and aux signals. Second, you can use a stereo "Y" splitter from the headphone jack, and send one side of the Y to your recording device while sending the other side to your headphones. The headphone output, of course, is a mix of both the instrument and aux inputs."
