recording with PODxt (USB) and Rane DC24

Sign in to disble this ad
hey, i've been reading this forum for a long time, but now it's time for my first post. sorry for my english mistakes.

I've this set:

Line6 Bass PODxt Live
Rane DC24 (rack compressor)
handmade bass active (EMG, 18v)
(no amp yet)

I would like to record my bass via POD's USB port, but passing by the compressor before. If I put my bass directly in Rane's input (and after to POD), I believe the signal won't be enough "powerful" for the compressor works how it should works.

Is there some way to have a good signal to compress and record without something like an effect loop to put Rane?

thanks!

why not put the compressor before the pod? You cant go after the pod becuase they then you wouldnt be able to use the compressor and the A/D conversion of the pod. Your right though, putting the compressor after the pod would require and effects loop.

Personally, I'd just use the LA2A compressor model built into the PODxt Live and bypass the Rane altogether when recording. It's what I do.
