Recording problem with M-Audio

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a little M-Audio fast track and i'm using that to record onto my MacBook Pro with Garageband. Whenever I record something though, it only comes out of one speaker. Has anybody else had this problem and solved it? or does anybody have any suggestions as to what i could do to fix it? it's quit annoying.

thanks,
nathan

Make sure that your track is set to Mono / Channels 1/2.

I think that should do it, but I don't have the program in front of me right now. If there's still no answer by the end of the day, I'll PM you.

Thanks for the Reply...

It is set to mono, but i don't know how to change the Channels, if that's what you mean. I plug my bass into the input on the back of the fast track and then the fast track goes straight to my computer through the USB port. Am I missing anything important?

(Edit)

Actually, on Garage band, i just notied that the tracks are set to "Channel 1 & 2 (Stereo)." Isn't this what it's supposed to be though?

Yes, that sounds correct. I'll give it look when I get home later.

This bothered me for a few days on my USB Mobile Pre. This is probably no help at all, but in the windows driver there's a setting for mono.
With the red box around it:

Maybe there's something similar on a Mac?

Try having it set to Mono / Channel 1, and make sure your pan pots are level. I know it sounds simple, but I've done it.
