How do you plug your bass into your soundcard, and then getting it into Audacity.... sorry for such a noobie question, I just don't really know anything.

Do you have a headphone jack on your amp? If you do, get a 1/4 jack to 1/8 jack. Plug from headphones to you line in on your soundcard.

yeah, i have normal instrument cable size plug-in, and it says headphones on top... thats all i know, as i said... kinda new at this. So would i need a special cord that has a headphone on one side, and a normal instrument cable on the other side.

You can actually get one from Radio Shack. Might cost around $8 dollars or so. 1/4 in to 1/8 in(minijack).

No I really don't know anything about that program. I think you will just have to experiment with that. Not really sure what program to use.

It won't know. It just records what the sound card hears.
