Recording suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have decided that I want to get my first recording setup. I have $2500 and want to be able to record band rehersels etc. (probably just using one area mic) and record my own music. It is important that I am able to easily create drum loops for my own stuff.

I am planning on getting a Mac laptop and using Garageband as my software.

I am looking for suggestions on what model/features I should get in the laptop. Also what interface should I get to get my bass/mic signal into the computer. Also what add ons should I get for Garageband.

Thanks,
Matt

With the laptop go with atleast a Mac Ibook G4. You can get em on ebay from about $750-$1300. The G3's will not come with garage band
