Recording from Tascam Bass trainer - HELP!!

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, I'm trying to help my son with his college audition traks. He downloads the traks from i-tunes and puts them on a CD. The CD sounds fine, so I change the key with the help of my handy dandy Tascam bass trainer.... then take the output to the line-in of my laptop and record using Sony Sound Forge Studio. Key change is good, maintains the proper speed, but I'm getting an echo / reverb type sound when I have the finished clip.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I have made sure all the effects have been turned off on the Tascam?!??!?
Please help!!!!

Sounds like a sound card issue? Check the settings on Volume manager and make sure there isn't somthing on that should not be. Make sure you change to the recording mode not playback in sound manager.

Hmmm... Can't be that an external mike is on since you are patching straight to the computer...

Latency issue? Verify that the latency for the card is correct.
Also, make sure there are no effects on the bass trainer.

Also check to see if the Driver for the sound if changed to the MS driver helps. This sometimes clears up the problem.

Sorry, but that's all I can think of for the moment...

All the best,

Gerry
