recording tips

my band is just getting ready to do our first demo tape. and we are recording with a fairly cheap 4 track (tape). and we will probably do it in my room. Are there any hints out there that we could use.

buy borrow steal (scrub the last one) two condenser mikes like the AKG1000 ir Rode Nt3 and place them opposite ends of your rehearsal room and record it live.
