Recording using Garageband

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I decided to splash out on a Macbook Pro and I'd like to record my bass playing using Garageband. I'd like to know how I should set this up. I have tried plugging my amp's lineout into the line-in socket of the MAC but the sound level is awful.

Do I need to buy a preamp? Could anybody give me some tips on which equipment to buy or how they have their bass hooked up to Garageband?

Thanks in advance.

You need an audio interface. i would suggest you get a Firewire interface, but without knowing your budget there are too many options to speak of.
