Here's one of my videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49FrvIuaIjk

Unless you have a camera with excellent sound quality, your best bet is to record the video and audio separately. I do that by running my bass through some pedals (to simulate an amp and add compression) in to the computer. I record the video of me playing and the bass sound at the same time, then throw away the camera audio and sync it all up in Windows Movie Maker.

Sansamp BDDI should do the trick or maybe a VT bass.

My only video I used my camera, and it sounds decent, and would like to someday figure out to do the direct recording thing.

But you missed a huge step here for the computer dummies like me...how did you connect your bass to your computer?
And where or what file does your recording get loaded onto?

There should be an input on the sound card. You'll probably need an 1/8" adapter.

The file goes to wherever you tell the recording software to put it.

Well then...
Download Audacity. It's free. It works.

Fire it up and get busy.

Oh, I'll bet there are a zillion to be found on Google.

You might want to look at marlowDK's site which (I think) is www.playbassnow.com

I believe he talks about his methods for doing what you want to do.

b4nny, you do this right.

How hard is it to sync the audio with the video? (question for anybody)Are there better video programs for syncing the audio to vid? And lastly, what cam are you using? That vid quality is killer too.

Excellent work, my man.
