REDDI vs. Aguilar DB680

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has experience with these two DI/Pre's. I know it is unfair comparing them in terms of flexibility, but I'm curious in knowing how the REDDI holds up to the bigger Aggie in pure tone quality.

Ive never tried either, but ive heard nothing but amazing things about the reddi. A designs makes some slick stuff, as does aguilar though. Id stick with the reddi for pure recording though. If you need it for both im sure the aguilar would give you a great tone.

At some shows I use only in-ear, so my db750 seems a bit heavy to carry, when it's only used direct to the soundguy. I have used the db680 a few times and it sounds great and very flexible, but the REDDI has really caught my attention, because I don't need the flexibility that much of the db680, and the REDDI seems as a great warm vintage sounding box, which I love. Any thoughts?

If you already have the db750, id go with the REDDI.

If your using a backline, take the db750, if your just using in-ear, take the REDDI

(Ive not used either, just what id probably do in that situation)

Anybody know how many tubes are inside the REDDI, can't find it on their web site. I would still love to hear from someone who has tried both units.

Your not gonna find many people around these parts that have used both. Your best bet is to post over at gearslutz.com There is alot of chatter about the REDDI there. If you emailed the guys at a designs they would tell you also.
