Hello:

I'm intrested in both of these DIs and was wondering if anyone out there had any experience with either one of them?
All help is greatly appreciated.

Crap. Me too. I just did a search and came across the title of this thread. I guess we're the only two...

I haven't used the REDDI extensively, but I have the gas cooker and I can REALLY recommend it, its a killer. I have the mic pre version and the pre's are good too, bags of character, lovely!

if cost is not an issue get the gas cooker

but if you already have a great mic pre and just need the DI, the Reddi will perform fine

if you get the GC make sure it has the mic pre option as well, it will come in handy

as far as I know, only VK sells them in the US

Any down side with the REDDI ?

I'm starting to look at other options for recording as well.

Aside from it being 10 lbs and 14" long? Well the thru jack doesn't put the REDDI sound into your amp, only the DI. Neither is a huge bummer for studio only use but being able to route that sound elsewhere through an unbalanced line would give it a handful of more possibilities, like in micing a cab or running an effected blend or the like.
