Repair Yamaha MT100 or replace?

Sign in to disble this ad
Got an older Yahama cassette 4-tracker (model: MT100) that has recenly had the tape drive go on the fritz. Pressing the "PLAY" button sends the tape moving, but the play/record head does not engage, nor does the tape speed control mechanism. FF, RW, STOP and PAUSE all work as expected.

Are there any MT100 users out there that have experienced this problem?

In general, is this a fixable problem? Any recommendations on types of repair facilities?
