Sans Amp Q:

I have a Ampeg B2r head running into 2 410 cabs.

My rack currently goes bass - wireless(line 6 g50) - Sabine Tuner - B2r - Cab

I have a Crown XLS1500, a BBE Sonix Max and the SansAmp RBI

My question is where do they fit into the chain? I am new to the rack idea.
Would it make any sense to run it like this

Wireless < Tuner < BBE < Sansamp < B2r (front input) < Poweramp < Cabs

I’ve never used a BBE before, but yeah that's how I'd chain them.

wait - two amps? I' d run the sansamp last into the B2R effect return or the crown amp.

Personally, I'd go...

Bass -> Wireless -> SansAmp -> Crown -> Cab

Skip the Ampeg and use the SansAmp for tone shaping. This setup suggestion is also strongly effected by my dislike of the BBE Sonic Maximizer for live bass sound.

I can't imagine what all this has to do with recording.

Record bass direct, maybe using the SansAmp for a DI, though I would far rather just go with the bass straight in and everything done digitally with a VST like SVX or some knockoff.

I would never use external hardware for bass recording if I could humanly avoid it.

+2 here.

IMO, the Sansamp + Ampeg + power amp is extra redundant for studio use...

In any case, run the tuner out of band instead of inline with your signal. Try linking the tuner from one of the extra outputs on the sansamp (uneffected for example).

I'd go direct with just the Sansamp used as a DI pedal for recording.

If you are really wanting to mic the cab, I'd cut as many things in the signal chain as you can to diminish noise.

Just my 2 cents.
