i absolutly LOVE ableton live. i recorded in it for a while but ended up switching to logic becuase some things were lacking, the build in plug ins aren't the best in the world, but not bad at all, i wasn't a huge fan of the automation and some plugins crashed the program. that being said, i have version 5. and i am seriously considering picking up seven, it is the one daw that truly is innovative and the new instruments look amazing, plus it is probably my favorite GUI ever, so simple, less time worrying about how the program works, more about recording. in the end yes, it's awesome and totally worth investing in.

topher.
ps. my other main reason for switching was that i needed a score editor, which i very much wish ableton would have, but i guess most people are just fine on a step sequencer, oh well
