Sound from Keys to the Kingdom

...Evenin' all,

This will be my first post to TB in life, ever, in the history of *always*. So if this should be placed somewhere else, or had been asked before, I shall accept a severe lashing.

No. No, I won't. But you know what I mean.

Anyhoo, I'm a converted guitar player, and I'm still not completely familiar with the sounds, gear and people of bassistland, so I was wondering if anyone could lend me a hand. Or an ear. Chuckle.

See, I've recently heard a bassline (more of a bass tone) that is just crotchgrabbingly good. Anyone know the band Unkle (Or U.N.K.L.E.)? On their new album there's this song, "Keys to the Kingdom", that begins with a bassline so sweet, I think I gain a pound everytime I hear it.

It's right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt4EWY1NWfA

So can anyone tell me how one would hypothetically go about to recreate that tone? I'm more or less trying to acquaint myself with basssound, so what should I be looking for? A single coil? A 'bucker? 4x10 or more 1x15? alder, ash, mahogany? maple or rosewood fretboard? flats or rounds? I think the dude is playing a stingray, so I guess the pup is a humbucker. Other than that, I've no idea.

Spanks.
Vincent.
