Still haveing latency problems

I bought this
http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--LINPSGX

so I can record on my computer. It says it will solve the latency issues. The guy at Best Buy I bought it from also uses it, and played me some tracks he recorded with it.

But, I'm still having latency issues and the Pod solved nothing. So, do I need a new soundcard?

My computer is a Compaq I bought last August, and has Windows Vista. Maybe Vista is the culprit?

Could be Vista. And since your PC is fairly new, I figure it has enough horsepower to record on. But it could be a few things:
(1) Background processes. What software runs at startup? Look in the Startup folder under All Programs (or whatever Vista calls it) and take out anything that isn't security-related like antivirus. Also search for some PC recording forums -- they have tweaks that help with latency.
(2) Are you plugging the USB into a USB hub? That isn't recommended. Plug directly into the USB ports on the PC itself.
(3) What recording software are you using? There could be some settings in it to help with latency as well.

FYI: I have a Presonus Audiobox running through a 1.53 Ghz PC with 1 GB of RAM into Cubase LE (which came with the interface) and have no latency at all. However, I downloaded Audacity for comparison purposes and got some serious latency with that. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick response.

Forgive me, but I'm computer stupid so forgive me if my explaniation is a bit off...

I am plugging into one of the two USB ports on the front of the computer. There are more ports on the back, not sure if that'll make a difference?

I've tried this with the software included (Live), Reaper and Audicity. All have the same problem.

I'll look at the startup portion when I get home tonight, but I'm thinking it's Vista?

Download ASIO4ALL. Install it.

Then have Reaper or whatever you are using detect your audio settings again.

Fixed every audio issue I had on Vista.

Agreed, ASIO drivers are the way to go then let reaper use the ASIO drivers.

With Line 6, you should be able to get ASIO drivers directly from them. I'd browse around their website and see if you can get some driver updates and try that. If that doesn't work, then give ASIO4ALL a shot.
