| In The Studio, GK Problem

I was in the studio last night finishing up our promo CD.
I had my favorite bass, 1951 Fender RI Tele/P and just my GK MB2-500 head. I was going to get my signal post EQ from the XLR direct out. The engineer got nothing it didn't work. The amp works fine, it just would not send a signal to the board. Fortunately the engineer had me go direct with a 1/4 inch and I had a smokin model.I don't know if it was in Pro Tools, or what
Anyone know why the GK direct out SRL thing didn't work?
