Trying to do some simple recordings...need advice

Sign in to disble this ad
Of recently I have had a lot of time on my hands, and I decided I wanted to start recording just some simple bass riffs with maybe some keyboard.

My plan is to go through my BBE Bmax into my laptop. What would result in the best sound quality? Like an XLR to USB, are those even made?

I basically have no experience with recording/ recording equipment so any advice is welcome.

Thanks
John

yes, there are XLR to USB interfaces, but these usually come with multiple inputs, and I'd hate to see you drop the clams to record with an overly expensive interface for simple recordings.

try an M-audio JamLab, it's very very simple, doesn't cost too much, and it gets the job done. That way, you can save up for that really expensive one, as your expertise and savvyness with home-recording increases.

That is exactly what I am looking for, but I don't even know if I want to shell out that much cash. Is there anything else basically the same but cheaper? Is there any lesser quality brands (idk behringer?) that offer the same features?

Nevermind. I'm an idiot. Just searched the jamlab on musicians friend and it was much cheaper than when I looked earlier. It looks like that's my answer. Thanks a lot meev.
