Trying to record DI with Audiobox... Not getting a signal when I record

Hi everyone, right now I'm trying to record myself covering a song with my Sansamp Bass DI through my AudioBox USB with a XLR cable and a USB cord that is connected to my Mac from the AudioBox. I can hear myself and the song just fine through the headphones, bass signal sounds good but when I try to record myself via photobooth while playing the computer is only picking up the sounds of me hitting my strings and not the audio from the song or the signal from my bass. I'm wondering what I need to do so that I can hear myself play through the DI signal while being able to hear the song and getting it all recorded onto my computer simultaneously. I've done it with micing my cab before with the audiobox so I'm sure there's got to be a way to do it with the DI input too. Thanks everyone!

I don't have my macbook here, but try going to the Preferences of Photobooth and set the Audiobox as input device. Or go to system preferences, Sounds and set the Audiobox as default input/output device

I tried that already and it did no good. I don't get any signal when recording and when I tried changing the output to my internal speakers I could actually hear myself being recorded but it leaves the issue of me not being able to hear the song because it's coming out of the speakers now and not through the headphones like it did when the audiobox is set to both my input/output device...

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

Okay so using a splitter cable fixed the issue I was having. Now I've got a signal being recorded on my computer and I can hear myself play along to the song since I connected my ipod into the other jack input (along with my headphones). Thanks again for the help!
