USB mics for Garageband

Has anybody tried one of the lower priced USB mics in your computer recording setups? (Here's one, and Here's another) I have an upstairs office where something like this could be really handy for doing GB sketches without having to go downstairs to the dedicated recording machine. Anybody with experience with these, good or bad?

C10U. Good...sensitive...very open and detailed sounding, not very rich. Good value

You might want to look into Blue's Snowball. Although I have no experience with one. If it is anything like their baby bottle, it would be a winner in my opinion.

The two Blue "ball" mics I tried out were two of the worst sounding mics I'd ever heard. I'm curious about the MXL mic, though, even as I'm glad to hear that somebody likes the Samson for the price.

That's disappointing. Blue makes some nice stuff.
