I can use either the mixer or the amp. I don't need both at all. | Yeah, I kinda started off that way until I realized I can use the effects and tweek my sounds with the DAW. So, the console is feeling neglected.

Primarily because the DAW has a console interface so I figured...'why use the console?'.

I run the line in from my computer or phone. Sounds great and allows apartment practice. I use the head with the 110 cab for full band practice.

I understand that it is power hungry and a full charge of fresh batteries may last no longer than 4 hours.
I haven't tried mine with batteries since new, but I did try it and it worked flawlessly. |

Zoom B3 multi-effects.
Bass in one input, out to the "mic" input of my computer.
Headphones out of computer.
Play songs with Windows Media player.
Jam along.
Or, if I'm just noodling about, just the B3 with headphones connected to it, no computer.

Got to looking at my owner's manuals, and found out that my Jamman looper pedal could be used. Headphones into the output. It's the last pedal in my chain. Kind of quiet, but I have a BDDI and an MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe before it. Both of them boost the signal (the fuzz can be set to boost clean), and the Jamman has an 1/8" input. Plug my computer into that, and run Best Practice.

Again it's more expensive than some others, but you get not just a headphone amp, but a preamp that can drive most power amps, loaded with lots of great effects, a tuner, looper, drum machine, XLR output, and lots of other goodies. If you get that, you just plug in the USB and you're good to go, no messing around with aux in cables and the like. | +1 |

| | | | Instrument input of my interface into my DAW, amp simulator of the moment as a plug-in on the channel. Song I'm practicing on another track. Running the song through a mid/side decoder plugin and keeping only the mid to make the stereo effects and guitars fall away really helps expose the basslines.
