Zoom 234 Rhythmtrak - how do you turn the bass off?!

Hi. Got one of these units just for jamming along with - but I can't figure out how to turn off the bass track in 'pattern' mode, leaving just bare drums.


Any ideas? I read somewhere that you might need the footswitch to do it, but surely they wouldnt have a drum machine where you couldnt just have drum patterns playing? Surely...?
