Zoom B3 into Logic Pro 9.1- need help getting it connected

I have been digging through the Logic manual, searched the Apple forums, Scanned here- so now I ask:

How do I get my B3 to work with Logic Pro on a late 2008 Macbook Pro running OS 10.7.5?

The box is plugged in via USB, is recognized in the Audio Midi Setup App, is selected as my input device in System Prefs, selected as input device in Logic Preferences/Devices/input device. I've tried an external instrument track, a MIDI track, a software instrument track... I'm lost.

It works fine in Garageband, although Im wondering if there is
a way to make that work without using the Apple amps
