A good double bass teacher in London

Hello

I am interested taking lessons from a classically trained double bass player in London. I need some help with the Rabbath technique and the french bow. Most of the ads I've found were jazz double bass players. I know this might be the wrong section of the forum, I didn't know where else to post.

I know that this forum is the best one online!

Any help would be kindly appreciated.

I've heard of Caroline Emery, who teaches at the Royal Academy of Music.

I think if you google search her you might be able to get contact info. There's no shortage of good orchestral double bass teachers in London though, your best bet is to get in touch with the London colleges.

Rinat Ibragimov! He's the principal of the London Symphony ORchestra and I think he might be available for lessons there.

Caroline Emery teaches at the Royal College of Music, many people study with her from a very young age at the Menuhin school and she's put out a lot of good students.

The teachers at the Royal Academy are Duncan McTier and Graham Mitchell. They're both excellent.

I would recommend you contact Caroline as many of her students that I've encountered play on laborie basses/instruments with bent endpins, standing up and with french bow and I've heard she's big on Rabbath technique in general...

Thank you for the replies! Do you really think that Rinat Ibragimov would waste his time on me? ;]

I will try to google the other ones. Thanks again.
