teacher recommendations, north nj/nyc

having availed myself of the search functions and not come up with anything suiting my situation, i beg the general populace for advice.

here's me in a nutshell: i've played bass guitar for about 13 years with minimal instruction (so my theory sucks eggs) and have recently picked up an URB. while i'd love to go study with a rufus reid or paul harris, i'm not gonna bother them with teaching me the mary-had-a-little-lamb stage stuff. so does anyone in the area have any recommendation for a good teacher to start out with, the idea situation would be once-a-week sessions on the weekend or something with a healthy amount of direction for solo practice so i can blow my mind all week

any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks in advance
-dave

edit: i stuck nyc in the title cuz i'm just outside the city in nnj, although i would probably prefer someone in nj ... at least for the time being
