"ripieno" - what is meant by this expression in a music score, please? I read that in baroque concertos and concerti grossi the full orchestra, as opposed to the instrumental soloists, but still don't quite get it :help:

it kinda means "rythm section" in a way. everything that is not part of the solist "group" is the ripieno, so when the term ripieno appears in the score it kinda means tutti like bassist14 said
