How do i tune my bass down a whole step?

I read a interview with Pitchshifter bassist Mark Clayden and he has his bass tuned down a whole step, how do i do this???

Luthier/Bass Wanker depending on your opinion

You just tune your bass to D,G,C,A (low to high) One whole step lower than standard
