 Upgrading Bass

I have been playing the bass for a while in a band and looking to invest in a better bass. I currently have a Squier P-Bass. The band I am playing in plays a little bit of everything from classic rock to blues to some pop. I was wondering what basses I should look at that would be best for my skill level and genre. I have heard good things about Essex but am up for suggestions. |
