Many luthiers drill for controls, tuners, bridges, etc. AFTER finishing. It helps to ensure a more consistent finish.

It's a pretty simple matter to prepare the finished surface for drilling to ensure it won't get messed up.

The two electronic cavities, wasnīt the way we first thought about it. actually we tried to make just one cavity and regular battery boxes, but since there was a lot of components form both, piezo, magnetics (villex makes a passive tone pot too) and the flexcore preamp, so everything was just to thight, and since I wanted to add MIDI in near future, it was a better idea to do 2 bigger cavities....
With the tuner holes, actually I donīt know, so I will ask Oscar why

Hi everyone! With joy and pride I want to show you my new bass.... As always, Oscar did a impressive job finishing the bass, and noqw is ready for next week's NAMM Show!

Here you can see the truss rod cavity cover I did for the bass, the idea was to follow the headstock design line..

This is the front of the bass, I am extremely proud of how the ramp/pickup bookmatch set looks, plus the knobs and inlays, makes it a Koa delight...

I hope you all like it, and that this thread was an interesting one. Next week I will pick it up at the NAMM show, and I will make some more pictures, videos, samples, etc... I don't know how much it weights still, so the ones that might ask, I will tell when I come back to my country..
Thanks, I am happy, it is so cool to see something you worked form the beginning, is finished and looks so amazing...
Thanks again to Oscar, no money in the world could pay all he has done for me... Thank you! For teaching me how to build the best quality basses, for letting me work on the basses for the NAMM show, basically, for helping me to make dreams come true! Oscar you are the man!

Thanks redhed! I love the bass, looks, feels and sounds perfect to me.... I have pictures with some of the best bass players in the world playing or holding my bass... NAMM was such a great experience.... Thank God for allowing me to make it, and make my dreams come true.... And Oscar for teaching me, doing such a beautiful work on the bass, and being my friend... If you want a great bass, go for a Prat Bass!
